The GIZ- Competitive Cashew Initiative (ComCashew) programme, with joint funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other essential health supplies to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA).

In September, Pennsylvania will launch COVID Green, a contact tracing app that enables residents to receive notifications if they have potentially been exposed to the coronavirus. The app, developed by Irish software company Nearform, uses anonymous Bluetooth signals to protect the privacy of users.

56 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Ireland bringing the total number of cases to 27, 313. No new deaths have been reported. Of the cases notified today, 26 are Kildare, 13 in Dublin and the rest of the 17 cases are in Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Laois, Longford, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Westmeath and Wicklow.
